WORKING CONDITION: Very Good. This CS-2 has a low noise floor and very smooth compression. The Sustain knob will hold a note or chord for an extremely long time when adjusted to its highest setting.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Fair. There are several chips in the blue finish, but the knobs are straight, and both jacks are in very good condition.

Renowned for its warm, smooth, and incredibly musical squish, it stands as a legendary staple famously utilized by players like David Gilmour and The Edge.

• VCA Circuitry: Unlike its predecessor (the CS-1), which used photo couplers, the CS-2 migrated to a Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA). This upgrade allowed for a significantly faster attack time and a more natural, well-rounded frequency response.
• Three-Knob Layout: Equipped with dedicated dials for Level, Attack, and Sustain. Eliminating the toggle switches of old, the variable attack control allows you to dial in everything from transparent string definition to a clicky, punchy country spank.
• Power Specification Note: These vintage units were built to run on a 9V battery or Boss's older ACA unregulated power supply. If you plug it into a modern, regulated 9V DC PSA power supply, the LED may barely light up, and the circuit won't get full voltage unless it is daisy-chained with other standard pedals to share a common ground.
