WORKING CONDITION: Excellent. This Explorer is an amazing specimen of Lawsuit-Era Japanese craftsmanship. It plays beautifully up and down the comfortable neck, and the pickups sound incredible. The tuning is stable, and the electronics are 100% operational.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent. There are a few signs of use on the body, but the finish is gorgeous, and the wood grain on both the neck and body is visually stunning. The frets are in good shape, and the gold hardware has maintained its lustre over the nearly fifty years it's been in existence.

BRAND: Greco

MODEL: EX-800

FUNCTION: Electric Guitar

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a 1978 Greco EX-800 Lawsuit Era Explorer Natural Finish Electric Guitar w/Case.

The 1978 Greco EX-800 Explorer is a highly sought-after, Japanese-made "lawsuit-era" electric guitar celebrated for its incredible craftsmanship. Built in the legendary Fujigen Gakki factory, this model is historically identical in construction to the famous Ibanez Destroyer (Model 2459) used by Eddie Van Halen on the debut Van Halen I album. Because Greco was a brand primarily produced for the Japanese domestic market, it allowed the factory to continue building exact replicas of Gibson's 1958 Explorer long after American legal pressures forced export brands like Ibanez to change their headstock designs.
