WORKING CONDITION: Very Good. All keys, drawbars, and the vibrato circuit sound great, albeit the vibrato is subtle sounding. This Continental was made in Italy and is believed to have germanium transistors as opposed to the US-made Thomas Organ's silicon variant. Sounds fantastic with a very low idling noise floor. 

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Good. C# and F# keys on the second octave are physically a little "clacky", but this has no effect on the sound or action. There is what appear to be white house paint on the bottom of the tolex, as seen in the photos. Other than the normal wear and tear of a 60-year-old keyboard, the unit is in good condition. It appears that the original power jack has been converted to a modern 3 Pin connector so that one can use a traditional IEC cable. Does not include the original lid but includes the vinyl cover.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a Vintage "Thomas Organ" Vox Continental Organ. Italian-made Thomas Organ Vox Continental organs, produced from late 1966 by EME (Elettronica Musicale Europea) in Recanati, were introduced to meet high demand, transitioning production from the UK to Italy. These models, often designated V301E, are known for having plastic keys (unlike the wooden keys of earlier UK models)

• Production & Origin: Due to high demand and costs, Thomas Organ (US) and Jennings (UK) moved production to the EME factory in Italy, in which Thomas held a 30% stake
• Design Characteristics:
  • Keys: Switched to cheaper all-plastic keys glued to metal shafts, which are generally considered less durable than the earlier wooden keys.
  • Construction: Often featured a "cross-over" leg stand mount on the front, distinct from the UK models.
  • Covering: Often featured a grey, textured vinyl covering, sometimes with a "chain-mail" pattern in later models.
  • Logos: Often lacked the "Made in England" branding, instead featuring Thomas Organ or EME branding
• Electronics: While designed to emulate the classic Germanium-based sound of the UK models, some Italian versions had different transistor configurations and, consequently, different tonal characteristics
