PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a Vintage Maestro EP-2 Echoplex Analog Tape Echo Unit. The Maestro EP-2 Echoplex is a legendary tube-driven tape delay unit manufactured in the early to mid-1960s. It is widely celebrated for its vacuum tube preamp, which adds a signature "warmth," organic saturation, and tactile boost to the guitar signal—even when the delay effect is turned off.
SPECS:
- Serial # 8710
- Tube Circuitry: Unlike the later solid-state EP-3, the EP-2 uses vacuum tubes for both its preamp and record/playback circuits.
- Integrated Controls: Mid-60s models introduced a combined instrument/echo volume "blend" pot (replacing independent controls) and a Sound-on-Sound switch for simple looping.
- Adjustable Delay: Features a sliding record head that allows users to physically move the head to change the delay time.
- Physical Design: Housed in a grey or dark green box, the EP-2 added a larger cabinet with dedicated space for storing cables compared to the original EP-1.
ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: This item comes as seen in photos and does not include any accessories.
