PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent - This is a Custom Shop Relic, made to appear aged and worn. The black matte finish and sanded down neck feel amazing. Numerous intentional dings and chips throughout the matte finish to make it look road worn.

WORKING CONDITION:  Excellent - This guitar is a delight to play. Great action, clean notes throughout the neck that ring out and that Filtertrom pickup! Heaven!  All functions working nicely. 

Since 2014 Billy has done some further customization to the guitar including changing the bridge to a more contemporary model and adding Filtertron pickup which is more in common with his signature Gretsch guitars. Also the neck-plate was changed (Original is included). Lastly the pickguard was changed to a single ply version to give the guitar a more "blacked out" look.

“Back in March I took part in the Fender American Design Experience where I created a cool black Telecaster on their website. It was made up to my design spec on the website customizer but as a professional I usually ‘fine tune’ my guitars so the artisan guys at the Fender Custom Shop kindly did some fine tuning it for me.
If you imagine it’s a bit like taking a standard car and getting it souped up, so I sort of had it ‘Hot Rodded’ to my exact specifications. The Fender Custom shop is a really cool place and there’s about 15 guys and they do all the Fenders for the celebrities and bands for everyone from Eric Clapton Clapton to Pete Townshend to the Chili Peppers to name just a few.”
